...And drill some more.
Coming hours after United States Representative John Linder (R - Georgia) let the world know that America could not replace its fossil fuel use with renewable energy [Source: 6/17/2008 Georgia Politics Unfiltered blog John Linder: We can't replace fossil fuels with renewable energy"], four of his Georgia Republican colleagues in Congress signed a pledge to drill, drill, and drill some more for oil.
Leading the charge on this initiative was Georgia Republican Lynn Westmoreland who challenged all 435 members of the House to sign a pledge that reads "I will vote to increase U.S. oil production to lower gas prices for Americans."
As of 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, Georgia Congressmen Paul Broun, Phil Gingrey, and Tom Price have all signed Westmoreland's pledge [Source: 6/17/2008 U.S. Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R - Georgia) news release "House members who signed pledge to increase U.S. oil"].
Here's a better pledge:
"I will vote to enact laws that reduces America's reliance on foreign oil, invests in renewable energy and energy efficiency, and cracks down on gas price gouging and oil price fixing."
